After days of Kijiji stalking, I finally found some great tables!!
Picked these beauties up from a lady who had them kicking around her basement from when she bought her house. Someone had painted them in an awful, oily red/black paint full of thick brush strokes and dried up globs..gross!
First, I sanded the flat surface on top, which wasn't so bad..
Then, I had to sand all the edges (elbow grease!!).
When I was done sanding, I removed the old hardware and roughed up the body.
I stained the top a nice dark, rich brown and used "Warm White" FAT paint to cover the rest.
When finished painting, I distressed the corners and each nook and cranny these table legs had (a lot!).
I sealed the top using hemp oil and the base with white wax.
Then, my favorite part: adding the beautiful hardware! Thanks Winners!
A few days work and these tables are now my favorite pieces of furniture.
Thank god it was finally a nice weekend in New Brunswick!
