TGIF!

You know that feeling when you come across a store that seems like it was just made for you?

It's as if your own personal designer hand picked every single item just for you?

That's how we feel about "A Little of This" in High River AB.

For those of you who have a love for decor, vintage furniture, natural beauty products and funky little finds and haven't been there, you've been majorly missing out.

It's basically our version of heaven and the prices are so reasonable.

This said, you can probably imagine our disappointment when we found out last week that the shop would be closing up in the next 3 weeks... 

for good.

Shauna - the wonderful, smiling, warm-hearted lady who owns it has put absolutely everything into this place.  She was a furniture refinishing enthusiast like us and we bonded immediately over this common passion. She believed in small businesses and the men and women who work there tails off to try and make it in this world by following their dreams and working their butts off. She teamed up with these people and displayed and sold their products proudly in her shop.

For those of you who have ever tried to make it on your own with nothing but an idea, a passion and some kind of modge-podged business plan, you know that whatever support you can get is extremely valuable. Shauna was in the same boat as the rest of us and even through her own struggle to make it work, there she was, cheering the rest of us on.

For all of us Albertans, we know how rough the economy has been and in some way or another, it's effected us all. It's natural to cling tight to every last dime in your purse. I get that, and I'm no different. That said, if we all would support "the little guys", even just something minor here and there, we would be helping to boost this burned out economy in a big way.

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to have our furniture displayed in her shop. We are very thankful to Shauna and will continue to look to her as a role model. 

She will be in the shop until the third week of February and is offering some truly ridiculous deals right now in order to empty out the space. You'll find the cutest hardware, throw pillows, candles, furniture, chalk paint, jewelry, scarves, makeup and sooo many more goodies.
